Ce este DOSARUL MEDICAL?

Ca parte integranta din procesul de admitere in nursing home, dosarul medicl este deosebit de important.
Toate informatiile medicale, evaluari, recomandari, medicatie, tratamente, sunt documentate cu atentie si pastrate cu aceiasi confidentialitate ca toate informatiile referitoare la rezidentii nostrii.

 

What happens if I want to go away for a weekend or a holiday

Holidays are facilitated as part of a normal lifestyle.

 

Ce este SOLICITAREA DE PLECARE?
In cazul in care se solicita plecarea sau transferul in alta parte, se impune o notificare cu o saptamana inainte. In cazul in care dupa o perioada se constata ca, din anumite motive, rezidentul nu se poate acomoda noi vom notifica familia si pe rezident cu 2-3 saptamani in avans pentru a-i putea oferi timp sa gaseasca o alta alternativa.
Can I still go out with family or friends?


Residents are encouraged to maintain as normal a lifestyle as possible whilst at the home including regular outings and visits to clubs of which they may be members.

 

What do I need to bring with me when I am admitted?

 

When you come into our care you should bring a letter from your GP or from a hospital doctor outlining medical diagnosis and medications prescribed; a prescription for current medications; your current medication supply or at least enough for your first few days; toiletries; comfortable day clothing and night clothing;

 

 

How much notice do I need to provide when I want to be admit

Generally only a few hours notice is required unless special preparations are required e.g. special equipment,.

In an emergency, arrangements may be made at shorter notice.

Advance notice is very much appreciated.

 

What hapens to my bed if go to hospital ?

In most instances private health insurance will cover for convalescent care. BUPA do cover convalescent care and by the end of 2004 Beech Lodge Nursing home will be eligible for VHI coverage of convalescent care.

 

Can we pay by direct debit transfer?

Yes, we recommend payment of fees by direct debit.

Fees are payable Monthly (first Monday of each month)

or

Weekly each Monday.

Persons over 60 years are entitled to free banking.

 

What services are included in the fee?

The fee includes accommodation, food and laundry. It does not include medication, dressings or other pharmaceutical products, personal hygiene needs, fees for medical or allied health consultations, hairdressing, travel expenses etc.

Medical card holders are entitled to free medical care and the medical card also covers most medications and some other pharmaceutical products. The health boards provide incontinence wear for all residents.

 

What are the fees?

Fees vary depending on the type of care required , please call the home manager for details.

 

Is there a chapel in the home? Are religious services availa

 

Yes. An oratory is available for religious services, private prayer and reflection. Weekly mass is given by our local priest.

 

What happens if I can’t shower myself, will someone be avail

Yes, Staff are available to provide whatever level of assistance, if any, is required.

 

Can the home look after someone with a medical problem?

 

Yes. Because the home is staffed at all times by registered nurses, those people who have medical problems or a disability are provided with appropriate quality care.

 

How do I launder my clothes?

The weekly fee includes a laundry service for items which may be machine washed and tumble dried. It does not cover dry-cleaning or items which must be hand washed. Alternatively families may choose to take all clothing home for laundering.

 

Can I have a TV in my room?
Yes. All rooms are equipped with a TV set.
Can I have a telephone in my room?

All rooms have either a telephone or a telephone point and additionally you may use a mobile phone if you choose.

 

What are the visiting hours?

Residents may see visitors at any time during the day. A welcoming cup of tea is always at hand.

Residents may request that staff inform visitors when they are resting.

 

Is there an activities program?


A formal programme of activities is available each day which includes fitness, walking, hobbies and special interest groups. You may choose which activities you would like to participate in. Additionally games are available for use at any time.

 

Is there a choice of food?


Menus are devised bearing in mind the nutritional needs of the elderly and those convalescing. Menus are designed to provide choice and variety.

 

What happens when I have a hospital appointment?

Staff will help to organize transport and someone to accompany you if necessary. An Ambulance can be arranged if required.

If neither family members or a friend are unavailable to take you then other suitable transport will be arranged.

 

What happens if I need to see a chiropodist, physiotherapist


The home has a list of medical and allied health professionals who are available to provide in-house services to residents at the home. The Chiropodist visits weeky, Physiotherapist is by appointment and the Hairdresser visits fortnightly.

 

Are there nurses on site at all times ?
Yes, there are nurses on duty in the home 24 hours per day.
What type of room can i choose from ?

 

There are private single rooms and semi-private rooms available. All rooms have ensuite facilities including shower, nurse call system, electric beds, television and phone point.
